Parliament's diary
The annual reports of the National Research Advisory Council and the National Library of New Zealand were tabled when Parliament sat at 2.30 p.m. yesterday; Members gave notice of four notices of motion. The Local Government Amendment (No. 2) Bill was introduced and referred to the Local Bills Committee.
Ministers answered 20 questions. The House then devoted itself to the Estimates debate until the 5.30 p.m. dinner adjournment. When the House resumed at 7.30 p.m., the Estimates debate continued with discussion on the estimates of expediture for the Security Intelligence Service and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The debate was interrupted by the 10.30 p.m adjournment.
