A second crash death
A second man has died as a result of an accident on Sunday when a car struck a pole in Springs Road, Hornby. Two of the car’s occupants survived the crash and were admitted to the intensive-care ward at the Christchurch Hospital with severe head and chest injuries. One of them died in
hospital yesterday morning. He was Allan John Whyte, aged 21, of 78 Palmerston Street, Hamilton. His parents live at Hornby. The other man admitted to hospital, Neil Catchpole, aged 19, of Hornby, is now out of the intensive-care ward, and his condition is improving.
