Adjournment to be sought
The creditors and lienholders of the Chateau Commodore Hotel group yesterday agreed to seek a further adjournment of their Supreme Court actions against the group and H. P. Holt, Ltd. The actions were adjourned on June 1 — for the eleventh time — tomorrow.
The creditors were advised by Mr B. McClelland. Q.C., that it would be advantageous to await the decisions in certain actions now before Mr Justice Barker in the Auckland Supreme Court.
These actions ask the Court to determine whether some of the transactions by the Merbank Corporation, which also financed the building of the hotels, were money lending transactions in terms of the Moneylenders Act, 1908...
