Command buys shareholding

Command Services Corporation, Ltd, has taken a substantial but minority shareholding in a newly formed company, Horticultural Industries (N.Z.). Ltd. This company will incorporate Zeaiandia Nursery Company, Ltd. Auckland. Brewster Hire Plants, Ltd, of Auckland. Tauranga Decor Hire Plants, Ltd, of Tauranga. and J. O. Taylor, Ltd. of Christchurch, a Plant Hire subsidiary of Command Services Corporation, Ltd. The three plant hire companies operate- extensively in

this aspect of the industry’ I and much is to be gained' from the merger according to I Mr A. Frank Crothall, the! chairman of the new comoany. The companies are : combining to share expertise and facilities which will result in immediate savings and streamlined efficiency. Mr A. D. Goudie. managing director of Zealandia Nursery Company. Ltd, will continue to head that company and Mr W. E. Brewster. managing director of Brewster Hire Plants, Ltd. will head all plant hire activ- . ities. Both will be joint managing directors of the new company. Mr D. ,J. Davies, an Auckland chartered accountant, will also join the board of the new company. Vflf. Pic. profit falls The unaudited group net profit of National Pictures. Ltd, fell 14.1 per cent to 152250 in the six months to March 31, after providing 's3o6 less for tax at $ll3O. The directors say that the | recovery of $9OOO invested in I the Securitibank group can'not be determined yet.
