McNaughton’s luck holds
PA Rotorua The Bay of Plenty rugby vice-captain and former All Black flanker, Alan McNaughton, of Rotorua, had a narrow brush with death while training on his racing bike. McNaughton was on Old Taupo Road when he was in collision with a car. His bike went under the vehicle and was • wrecked, while McNaughton landed on the road. He suffered abrasions to the arm, but was unhurt. “I think I’ll stick to rugby — it’s safer,” McNaughton said.
