Aviation pact
The United States and Britain have signed a new civil aviation agreement to govern passenger flights between them, but it left unresolved the issue of whether the controversial AngloFrench Concorde supersonic jet can land in the United States. The American Secretary of Transportation (Mr Brock Adams) said at the signing ceremony in a luxury hotel: “We insisted that our airport operators maintain their existing rights so that the Concorde situation from an international agreement viewpoint stands exactly where it did under the old Bermuda agreement.” — Hamilton (Bermuda).
