Three mares sold
Kaitoke, a 14-year-old mare and one of the youngest progeny of Light Br.gade, has been sold to the Kumeu studinaster, Don Hayes, and she will be mated with Great Evander this spring. Kaitoke. a daughter of' Glen Logan, was sold on behalf of Messrs C. Poole and L. R. Wescombe. of Weedons. She has a filly foal at foot by Johnny Gee and is in foal to Scotch Abbe. Payline, a two-year-old filly by Bachelor Hanover from Kaitoke, has been sold on behalf of the same vendors to Roa Croghan, of Sydney. Social News, by Newport Chief from Weekender, with a colt foal at foot by True Averill, lias been sold by Dr B. W. Nixon, of Greymouth, to Mr P. Eliot, of Sydney. All of the sales were negotiated by the standardbred division of Wrightson Bloodstock, Limited.
