New judge on Bench
PA Wellingtonl An Auckland Queen’s! Counsel, Mr M. H. Vautier,: has been appointed a judgej of the Supreme Court, the; Attorney-General (Mr Wilkinson) announced yesterday. His appointment fills the second position created by the Judicature Amendment Act, 1976, which increased the number of permanent Supreme Court judges by two.
Mr Justice Vautier. who is 63. was born in Hamilton and educated at Hamilton High School and Auckland University College. He was admitted to the Bar in 1936, and before World War II served in the Auckland firm of Eart, Kent and Company, and after the war in the Wellington firm of Chapman, Tripp, and Company. Mr Justice Vautier, who is married with two sons and two daughters, will sit in; Auckland.
