St Andrews holds off Timaru
St. Andrews College beat Timaru Boys’ High School, 16-12, in a first XV rugby match at Timaru yesterday.
The visitors came back after trailing 6-0 early on, and then held out a determined Timaru challenge in the closing stages. The team’s points came from tries by Henry Aubrey, the best of the backs, and John Holmes, while Derek Templeton kicked a conversion and two penalties. Timaru’s points came from a try by James Johnstone and two penalties and a conversion by Chris Leonard.
