Blockhouse beaten
p A Auckland Blockhouse Bay lost its muchpostponed Chatham Cup firstround soccer match against Hamilton by five goals to two at Newmarket Park last evening. The captain. Garry Lake, must take a big share of the blame for the failure of his team to hold on and win after its had valiantly fought back from a goal down at half-time to take a 2-1 lead early in the second half. After scoring twice Blockhouse held Hamilton at bav for a further half hour, but then Lake made his error.
A booking. already hanging over him, he launched himself into a flying tackle on Alf Stamp, and the referee had no option but to award the penalty, and send Lake from the field. K. Nelson netted the penalty ito send the game into extra time, and in the 30 extra minutes Hamilton scored three times.
