Attacker flees minus cash
An attacker made off empty-handed leaving the owner of the Cashmere Fruit Supply bleeding profusely , after trying to snatch the 'shop takings about 6.50 p.m. last evening. ; I Mr Frederick Jonathon, Lancaster, aged 55, was hit; I from behind by a young mam [with shoulder-length hair as I he walked away through an[ 'alley after closing the shop at; 8c Colombo Street. The assailant made off [ across nearbv sections after IMr Lancaster strugled and [yelled. Mr Lancaster, who [managed to keep his money [bag from the attacker, was helped by a passing pedestrian.
Mr Lancaster was admitted to Christchurch Hospital for observation. He suffered head lacerations in the attack.
