Sydenham tender let
Sydenham will get its Community centre — built by Enterprise Homes, Ltd, at a cost of $20,867. About $5300 will be available from Christchurch City Council estimates to pay for car-parking and landscaping of the vacant site, bounded by Brougham Street, Colombo Street and Hutchinson Street. Another $BOO will be spent by the council for external wiring, service area vinyl and office carpets. Heaters, a refrigerator, and electric range will be provided by the community. The centre building will be movable, and its activities will be watched to see how much support it is given. A larger, permanent building may be built eventually.
