‘Dateline Monday’
Sir, — I am writing in protest concerning last night’s TVI programme of "Dateline Monday.” If ever I have seen a totally biased programme, this was it. It seems that the police have to be the sole recipients of criticism in this country. In every organisation there is always the possibility of a corrupt member and, as the Hon. Nigel Wilson
stated, even the Apostles were not immune. Why, therefore, should the police be singled out so consistently? Are the members of the legal profession immune from fiction and fabrication? Are their clients? Are politicians? What about a “Dateline” programme on other professions? And let us not wait seven years for the inquiry. — Yours, etc., M. HENNESSY. July 5, 1977.
