Marlborough Sounds, Kaikoura Coast: South or south-easterly winds, strong at first with periods of rain; winds '
moderating and tending south-west with fair intervals; developing cold, Buller, Westland: Cloudy and rather cold with scattered rain mainly about the ranges; moderate easterly to southerly winds. Canterbury: Rather cloudy and cold; South-west-erlies becoming fresh in exposed places by late in the day; showers developing. Outlook: South-westerlies with showers in all districts.
