ORANMORE WINS AGAIN
NZPA Sydney The New Zealand-owned gelding Oranmore, scored an impressive five lengths and a half win in the $lO,OOO June Stakes (1200 m at Randwick on Saturday. It was the four-year-olds third successive win, and the victory was a great trial for the 8100,000 Doomben Ten Thousand (1350 ml on July 4. He started the 9 to 2 second I favourite to Hamden <5 to 2) and revelled in the heavy going to repeat last Tuesday’s Pacesetter Stakes victory. The apprentice. Peter Losh. kent Oranmore. the 59kg top-1 weight, near the pace before making his bid as the eight-horse I field straightened. The former New Zealand j horse. Rouslllon, made up good ground to finish third ahead of the New Zealand-bred mare, MeUay’s Pride.
