Royal appointments
PA Wellington The Queen will assume the appointment of Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal New Zealand Army Ordnance Corps, .and the Duke of lidinburgh has been appointed a Field-Marshal in the New Zealand Army, and Marshal of the Royal New Zealand Air Force. These two Royal appoint-
ments are among several affecting members of the Royal Family and the New Zealand services, which were announced by the Governor-General (Sir Denis Blundell) yesterday. Sir Denis said that the Queen had been “graciously pleased on the occasion of Her Majesty’s silver jubilee to asstime the appointment as Colonel-in-Chief.” Prince Charles will be-
come Air Commodore-in-Chief of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, and Princess Anne will become Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal New Zealand Corps of Signals, and of the Royal New Zealand Nursing Corps. Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, will become Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal New Zealand Army Service Corps.
