‘Not sorry’ for jail assault
PA Auckland ■ A girl who assaulted and injured a matron, of the Mt; Eden Prison, has told the; police that she is not sorry,; and would do it again. Adrienne Lorraine Cherri, ( aged 19. appeared in the. Magistrate’s Court in Auck-( land on one charge' of assault, and one of assault ; with intent to injure. She pleaded guilty to both, charges, which involved the] matron and another woman: prison officer. She was serving a six-week prison term when the assaults occurred. One officer suffered cuts to the face and had to take a few days off' work; she was under sedation for nervous tension. The other suffered slight paralysis to the face and the left side (of her body. i Cherri was remanded in; !custody until June 10 for a; (probation report and sen-; (tence.
