More than $2400. in cash :and cheques, was stolen .from Anderson’s Autos in (Victoria Street on Tuesday. The Christchurch C. 1.8. is (investigating the theft which !it believes was committed iby an opportunist. The money and cheques were contained in a bankbag, which is thought to have been stored near a counter. No arrest has been made. Burglars ransacked the
offices of the Reidrubber •Tyre Centre, Ltd, in Durham! |Street, at the week-end and: •made off with a .303 rifle! 'left there by an employee.’ i While there, the thieves at-1 •tempted to open an office! ’safe, but failed. The Chrifjtchu'eh C.I B- is j investigating the theft.
