NZPA-Reuter Southgate (Kentucky) Officials have calledl off the search for more bodies in the blackened ruins of a night- ; club in Southgate, Kentucky, ; where 160 people died in a ■ week-end blaze. “We don’t expect to find ; any more bodies,’’ the Mayor ■ of Southgate (Mr Ken Paul) . told reporters yesterday while . a giant crane set about demolishing what remained of ’ the once palatial Beverly Hills Supper Club. When flames roared through the packed nightclub on Saturday, sending more than 3000 patrons fleeing into the night, there were fears that the death toll could reach 300. Forty-five of the victims still have to be identified, i some of them burned beyond recognition in the worst fire in the United States for 35 I years. The local coroner, Dr Fred Stine, said that he expected most of the remaining victims would be identified today when relatives and friends realised they were missing after the Memorial Day holiday week-end.
