Rider sought by police
Christchurch detectives are anxious to hear from anyone who may have seen this Suzuki TS 185 motor-cycle being ridden in the last two months. The motor-cycle was stolen from a Christchurch address on March 16 by a young man who had asked the owner if he could take it for a “test ride.” The man, aged between
20 and 25, with shoulderlength wavy fair hair, had ridden the machine round the owner’s yard — and then sped off. On March 23, the owner of the machine received an anonymous note saying that the machine was hidden in a clump of broom in Miners Road, off the Old West Coast Road. The machine was found badly damaged. The police said that it had been used
for scrambling, and would cost more than $2OO to repair. The machine has had its petrol tank repainted blue with black stripes. Its registration number is 303 YT. The offender may have been wearing a green parka, cream shirt, and green trousers. Anyone who has seen the man riding the machine is asked to tell the police immediately.
