Track suits Bell Flight
Special correspondent Dunedin A heavy track will weigh heavily in favour of Bell Flight in the Fletcher Sprint at Wingatui on Saturday, judging by his work there yesterday morning. Gallops were on the inside grass which took a thorough soaking from rain on Monday night. Bell Flight had Laurentine for a partner and he was being eased down after running 800 m in 54.65ec. The pair went fast early to return 12.9 sec for the first 200 m. Gravil and Laingwin returned similar timp but on better footing down the back. Waronui came through a searching gallop when he ran 1200 m in Imin 21.5 sec. the opening 600 m in 39.55ec and the last 800 m in 55.55ec. Candvboy worked up to speed from the 1600 m and ran the last 1000 m in imin 9sec, the last 800 m in 55.8 sec. He has a good record on wet tracks at Wingatui. Bideford, a last start maiden winner at handled the ground well when he led Tiber Khan by a length at the finish of 800 m in 55.25ec. Don Carlos was travelling well with Tout Coeur and Southern Light over 800 m In. 54.8 sec.
