Lake storage improves
Water storage in New, Zealand’s hydro lakes improved last week with heavy i rain in both islands. South Island lakes are now 67 peri cent of nominal fulL an in-! crease of 2 per cent over the previous week. The hydro lake storage fori the whole of New Zealand is I
1 58 per cent of nominal full. This is worse than the lake ‘storage figures for May 29 in the last two years, but I better than the 1963 and 1964 figures. The generating capacity in ; the South Island lakes is. •1561 GWh. The present: South Island consumption is I ; i about 20 GWh a day.
