Chiefs blamed for bribes
NZPA-Reuter Burbank (California). The Lockheed Aircraft Corporation has blamed its questionable salespromoting payments abroad on the company’s former chairman and president who believed they were staving off bankruptcy. An internal report issued yesterday did not name the recipients of the payments, which they said amounted to $165 million paid to 150 people from 1970 to 1975. The report said that the former chairman, Mr Daniel Haughton, and the former president, Mr A. C. Kotchian, “must bear the responsibility for the questionable payments and practices.”
