Bridge of Remembrance
Sir.—Now that the Christchurch City Council has decided to retain the original Sian for landscaping the area y the Bridge of Remembrance, 1 must express my sincere gratitude to all those who assisted in the campaign
both by assisting with the petition, and also by participating in other activities organised by the Values Party. Many of these people were strangers, whose political views were unknown, but who were motivated by concern for the future of our city. The events of the last couple of months have shown that public participation in decision making is not a pipedream, and if nothing else had been achieved, this realisation would have been worth while.—Yours, etc., ROGER WILSON. May 24. 1977. [This correspondence is now closed.—Editor]
