Plague outbreak
Bubonic plague has broken out in Vietnam and the Vietnamese authorities have ordered the inoculation of every household in Hanoi, the Japanese Welfare Ministry has said. Quoting a report from the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi, the Ministry said it had instructed quarantine offices at Japanese ports and airports, and foreign and Japanese shipping companies to be on the alert against the disease. — Tokyo.
