Husband guilty of murder

Kenneth George Brodie, aged 60, has been found guilty by a jury in the Supreme Court at Auckland i of the murder of his wife. I He was sentenced by Mr I > Justice McMullin to life imprisonment. Brodie had pleaded not i ! guilty to murdering his wife, Gertrude Josephine Brodie, j : at Point Chevalier on De-j ; cember 14. The Crown's case was that Brodie cut his wife’s throat the day after he ■ had been served with a court order evicting him from the family home. I The defence case was that :he was insane, suffering! from paranoia, at the time. *
