Telethon committee
The National Children’s Health Research Foundation, the benefactor of the 1976 South Pacific Television Telethon appeal, has set up a Christchurch regional committee. This committee, which is chaired by Mr P. F. Polson, comprises Bryan Allpress (S.P.T.), Mr E. S. Highet (district governor of Rotary), Mr J. S. Riminton (administrative secretary, Christchurch Clinical School), Dr F. T. Shannon (professor of pediatrics, Christchurch Clinical School), and Mr W. E. Willmott (prefessor of sociology, University of Canterbury). The committee has been given responsibility for publicising the work of the foundation in the South Island, and also acting as a contact and advisory service through its members.
