Aria contest to Mrs House
PA Palmerston North Mrs Patricia House, of Auckland, won the Palmerston North City aria contest and a $lOOO prize at the final on Saturday evening. Mr Leo Barnett, also of Auckland, won the $5OO second prize. Mrs House, a pupil of Dame Sister Mary Leo, won the Mobil Song Quest .last year and was runner-up in the Svdney and Melbourne Eisteddfod. Mr Barnett, a baritone, has been a singer for 20 years, and has had engagements with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
