_ Tenders BAY OF PLENTY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD ANIWHENUA HYDRO-ELECTRIC PROJECT PREQUALIFICATION OF TENDERERS THE BAY OF PLENTY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD proposes to let a contract in August for the construction of all civil works and mechanical erection for the Aniwhenua Hydro-Electric Project. Contractors and consortia of contractors who are interested in being considered for prequalification are invited to submit their credentials to the consultants. Only these contractors who can demonstrate their contractual and management ability to carry out work of this nature will be invited to tender. The project comprises the construction of a barrage in concrete and earthfill to divert water from the Rangitaiki River through a canal approximately 2.3 kilometres in length to a headpond formed by damming a minor tributary stream. The water will be drawn from the headpond through buried steel penstocks to the turbines. The design power output for the station is 25.6 megawatts from two machines. Application forms and a detailed description of the project are available from the Consultant. The forms, with supporting data, should be lodged with the Consultants on or before June 6, 1977. ’ONKIN AND TAYLOR, Consulting Civil Engineers and Registered Surveyors, 100 Anzac Avenue, Auckland.
