Tender let for pools
Work on the new thermal pool complex at Hanmer Springs is expected to start in about two weeks, and take six months. A tender of $100,409 — the lowest of three, ranging to $143,788 — has been let to Construction Builders, Ltd. of Christchurch, for the outdoor pools, as part of stage one of the complex. The tender will include the main active pool of 25m by 7.75 m, and varying in depth from 0.9 m to 1.35 m; and three passive 9.9 m hexagonal pools with a depth of 1.15 m. Ancillary pumping equipment and the indoor spout pools will be the subject of separate tenders.
