Pending reports make market weaker
The Australian share market was very uneasy, and profit-takers got irt for their cut before the release of the Fox report on uranium and the March quarter wage case figures.
Despite the fall of Pancontinental to 1300 c Queensland Mines, and Kathleen Investments both rose. Peko Wallsend, Western Mining and Mount Isa dropped, possibly affected by the lower London Metals Exchange prices. Woodside was also out of favour. Utah was one of the few miners to gain ground and it was up 5c to 500 c. BHP finished 8c down at 702 c in Melbourne and the banks lost ground with the exception of the Wales which was up 2c to 544 c. Stocks and Holdings was up 5c to 250 c, and TNT gained a cent to 144 c. CSR was down 3c to 370 c.
