Referendum on abortion

Sir, —I wish strongly to support the call for a referendum on the abortion issue. Mr Duncan Maclntyre has said that the issues are “too complex”; and yet even now, across the Tasman, a referendum has been held on three questions about the Australian Constitution. On what authority does our Government rate us as so much less intelligent than the Australians?—Yours, etc., DIANA GREGSON. May 22, 1977.
