Maoris ‘too tough’ for Britain
NZPA London British rugby league authorities are expected to reject New Zealand’s offer of a game against a Maori team in June. The Maori match was offered after the plans to play Wellington on June 7 fell through. “We would have been quite happy to play Wellington, which on past performances would not have been a very difficult match,” the English league’s secretary, Mr David Oxley, told the NZPA. “But the Maoris will be a much sterner proposition. I It’ll be virtually another test i match and we don’t want I that,”
