Container crane on job in June
Lyttelton’s container crane will swing into full use on June 14 —two months earlier than expected.

June. !| It had been thought that, the honour of christening the:, terminal would fall to the Discovery Bay, which is;, for August 19. , The ACT 2 will load at.i Auckland, Wellington and I < Lyttelton for Liverpool, Zee- i brugge and Tilbury. I though board officers said ' yesterday that the terminal! would be fully functional by; the end of May. One of the last key items, I I the tug Godley, should be I commissioned within four weeks. Engineers advised yester-1 dav that the tug’s engines; would be ready to be turned; i over for the first time on Fri-: day. The Godley will then! undergo sea trials before she! is delivered to Lyttelton. Though the Discovery Bay , remains officially the second, . container ship for Lyttelton, . it is understood a sister ship,, the Jervois Bay, may call top discharge on July 9. I;
