Table tennis assn to have new post
A new position, that ef secretary-recreation officer, was created at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Table Tennis Association last evening. The position Was recommended by the out-going executive. "We need a person In a semipermanent situation to organise tournaments and sponsorship. We have acquired our hall ano now we have to make it work,” said Mr R. G. Hart. "We have to run It like a business and we need someone to bring in revenue. We have made gigantic strides in the last two to three years and have increased our assets considerably." Mr P. D. McLean said that the appointment was one of consolidation. "A lot ef time has been spent over the years solving problems in lunch breaks during working hours. Now we require someone who will pursue all avenues of income and diversify our revenue. The hall needs adequate supervision and the appearance both internally and externally has to be maintained.” Mr A. B. McCallum said that the Ministry of Recreation and Sport might not look too favourably on the position as It was
