Burnside-West University has a difficult task if it is to win the final of the Gillette Gup, the national club knock-out competition next Sunday in Auckland, j The other finalist is UniI versify of Auckland, an ex- ' tremely powerful comi bination captained by the former Auckland wicketkeeper, Ross Dykes. Much will be expected from a former New Zealand batsman, Brian Hastings, and the captain, John Mitchell, who has had a particularly good season with the bat. ; Stephen Bateman, who has : taken about 30 wickets this ; season at a very lew cost I will open the bowling with
David Trist, and these two will be relied upon for economical performances. Included in the University team are two Auckland representatives, Jim Riley and John Wiltshire, a former representative, John Carson, and Larry Sewell, who played in the New Zealand Motor Corporation knockout semi-final against Canterbury. The match is of 40 overs duration and the BurnsideWest team is: Mitchell, O. C. Blackman, M. H. Toynbee, Hastings, B. Bhana, P. E. I Wallace, J. W. Davies, K. I. I Collins, J. Smith, Bateman, 'Trist and G. I. Cummins [(twelfth man).
