Thomson ends indenture
Special correspondent W anganui The record-breaking apprentice jockey. Brent Thomson, leaves Wanganui next week to settle In Palmerston North. Thomson, indentured to his father, the Wanganui trainer, Kevin Thomson, completed bis apprenticeship last week with a best-ever feat by a New Zealand apprentice with 250 winners. He rides at Ilawera and Palmerston North this week and next week. He will be at Nelson for the second and third days of the Nelson Cup Carnival before settling in Palmerston North where he will be a freelance rider.
