Harbours Assoc, officers elected
The chairman of the Auck-| land Harbour Board <Mr R. W.< Carr) was elected yesterday to] his third and final term as president of the Harbours Associa-I tion of New Zealand, The election of the officers at the association’s annual confer-] ence in Christchurch sawi changes in tile positions of vicepresident and the composition of I the executive committee. The two former vice-presidents Mr J Brand, chairman of the. Lyttelton Harbour Board, and Mr: II A James, chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board, were replaced by Mr B. J. Petre, chairman of the Timaru Harbour Board, and Mr K. S. Calder, chairman of the Bay of Plenty Harbour Board. However. Mr Brand and Mr James became members of the association’s executive committee in place of Mr Calder and Mr Petre.
The two other sitting members of the committee. Mr D. N. McKav. chairman of the Northland Harbour Board, and Mr 1. H. R. GuiSe, chairman of the Southland Harbour Board, were re-elected to their positions.
