‘We’ll meet again'

London The World War Two songstress, Dame Vera Lynn, is rehearsing “We’ll Meet | Again” to encourage Alliedj. ‘soldiers stationed in Britain] during the war to come back for a Jubilee Year visit. New Zealand ex-servicemen and civilians can go back to their old bases this year, and enjoy special “jubilee” drinks, reduced admission to tourist attractions, and hotel rooms at 1952 prices. "Operation friendship,” sponsored by the British Tourist Authority, will entail sending out special cards for holiday discounts to old Allies coming to Britain this year. The B.T.A. is also organising friendship committees throughout the country to make the visitors welcome. Dame Vera will leave next week for a fortnight’s tour of Canada and the United States to promote the scheme, which has Earl Mountbatten as its patron.
