Herrin gull
For a bird which spends most erf its life pestering and scavenging on tne beach, the title of the programme “Private Life of the Herring Gul!" seems rather incongruous. Technically I.arus argei • tatus — in layman s terms "the silver water bird" — this species is undergoing a major population explosion throughout the world. Some say it is far too successful and ask the question. “Should man take action”? This film shows in amazing detail just what this bird does during the year when it is not "at the sea-side." “The Private Life of the Herring Gull” will be screeied by TVI on Sunday afternoon.
