Quality of blooms high
The recent hot weather, followed closely by rain, did little to alter the quality of blooms at this year’s Christchurch Horticultural Society flower show. The more than 400 entries were of a good quality and easily up to last year’s standards, according to the judges. The show opened yesterday. ft will be open to the public again today. Yesterday’s results:— Champion ribbon for best dahlia: B. D. Buckley. Giant semi cactus: P. C. . Luesette. Large exhibition: P. C. Luesette. Medium decorative: P. C.| Luesette. Medium semi cactus: B. D. Buckle?,. Small decorative: B. D. Buckley. Miniature decorative: B. Di Buckley. Small semi cactus: B. D. Buckley. Miniature cactus: B. D. Buckley. Large fimbriated cactus: Mrs E. Fenton. Smail fimbriated cactus: Mrs E. Fenton. Pompoms: B. D. Buckley. Best vase chrysanthemums: J. Hammond.
