Crucial putt wins golf
NZPA Los Angeles Tom Purtzer, one of a growing corps of , previously-obscure young men who are claiming the professional golf tour for their own, holed a critical sft. par-saving putt on the final hole and scored a one-stroke victory i in the Glen CampbellLos Angeles open, the Associated Press reported. The 25-yearold Purtzer, who, had not won before, blew a three stroke lead, once fell a shot behind, rallied, then had to make that desperately scrambling par, on the seventy-second hole to avoid a tie and a play-off with Lanny Wadkins. In fifth place on 278 was Graham Marsh, of Australia, xvho took SUS77OO Bob Shearer 'Australia! shot 284 for SUS33OO and David Graham finished with 294 I for SUS4IS.
