Two skippers, Alan Archer i and Dennis Matheson, gained! line and handicap doubles when the Banks Peninsula! Cruising Club held races to: Pigeon Bay and return during the week-end. Archer was at the helm of Imp when it won the first division event, and stayed ahead on corrected times, in light and variable breezes on Saturday. The course, of about 24 kilometres, included a mark in Sumner Bay and some of the later finishers took more than eight hours to reach Pigeon Bay.
