Selective support on Australian market
The Australian share market advanced slightly yesterday as buyers continued Ito lend their support to key ! mining and industrial issues, las well as selected secondI rankers. I Most of last week’s gains | were retained, although some | quick profittaking was [evident. B.H.P. closed with a 6c rise at 694 c. ANZ Bank advanced 10c to 330 c, and Comalco 7c to 237 c, two of the best gains for the day. AAR recovered another 5c to 80c and Pancontinental put on 10c at 920 c.
Marginal gains were made bv WMC. Peko. BH South, and Bougainville. BH South rights rose 3c to 40c. TNT improved slightly on the interim dividend increase.
but Woolworths, ACI. Thiess. Renison, and North BH were down.
