Mr Hunt may attend Marton
Special correspondent Wanganui There is a very strong possibility that the American international racing celebrity, Mr Nelson Bunker Hunt, will be attending the $lO,OOO Marton Cup fixture this week-end, according to the Marton Jockey Club secretary (Mr Robert -Watt). Mr Hunt, whose racing and breeding interests spread throughout two hemispheres, is expected to be accompanied by his Australian manager, Mr Jim Shannon, and his New Zealand counterpart. Mr Peter Keating, of Matamata.
Mr Hunt has been trying to visit New Zealand for the past four years to inspect his racing and business interests but in each case the trip has had to be called off. There is still no certainty when he will arrive this week.
Mr Hunt has four form runners listed for Marton. They are Bartlesville and Seven Forty Seven, which are in the Marton Cup, the open sprinter Kayenta, and the lower-grade performer, Doronicum all are tn top form.
