Johnson, an American exchange scientist who has spent the last year there. They were treated to a turkey dinner; then the Russians and Americans exchanged gifts and souvenirs. The Americans also presented the Russians with 1901 b of fresh vegetables and about 1001 b of Antarctic cod w’hich was transported to the station by a U.S. Navy Hercules shown in the picture.
