The area is subdivided into three separate blocks, details of which are as follows: (a) BLOCK 1: Slash heaping 37 ha; fire breaking 10.8 ha. BLOCK 2: Fire breaking 7.2 ha; windthrowing 29.0 ha. BLOCK 3: Fire breaking 6.4 ha; windthrowing 30.0 ha. (b) Each block will be considered as a separate tender. (c) The contract wiU be on the standard N.Z. Forest Service form F.5.D43. which must be signed within ten days of acceptance of tender and prior to work commencing. (d) Tenderers should inspect the work sites and should arrange this with the Officer in Charge, Balmoral Forest (Phone 226 and 236 after hours) from whom copies of the schedule may be obtained. (e) Full details of machine covering make, model, xootraking specifications and price per working hour are to be stated. (f> The machine must be fitted with a suitable rootrake, safety canopy and engine spark arrestor. (g) All work must be completed by the 15th of March, 1977. (h) Work is thought to be suitable only for machines in excess of 180 h.p.
