Buyers rush Hooker

Buyers rushed Hooker Cor-t iporation, raising its shares :14c to 69c in an otherwise [weaker market for mining and industrial shares on Australian exchanges yesterday. Brokers reported the ‘little man’ was back in the market for Hooker after strong denials from the company about financial problems for the; property developer. Elsewhere the further re-( valuation of the Australian) dollar depressed miners and! combined with a bearish sur-i vey from the Chamber of) Manufacturers to weigh on: sentiment. B.H.P. slumped sharply fal-i ling 26c to 728 c. 1.A.C., re-i ported to have loaned SBO.OM to Hooker, held steady at 70c. Lend Lease eased 6c to 224 c in afternoon trading.
