Mrs Nola Priddy (left), of Selwyn Street, and Mrs Doris Jaeggin, of Montreal, Canada, who have met for the first time after corresponding about once a month for 48 years.
“We feel as if we know each other very well after all these years,” says Mrs Priddy. “Since we first became pen-friends we have both grown up, married and had families.”
Mrs Jaeggin and her husband, Paul, will spend Christmas with Mrs Priddy and her husband, Robert. Later the Canadian visitors will make an extensive tour of New Zealand.
