Make a sparkle ball
This is fun to make and it is a gay Christmas decoration. A number of them will look pretty on the tree or hanging in your living-room.
You need; a balloon; a ball of heavy cotton string; water-soluble glue; glitter; vaseline or petroleum jelly.
Blow up your balloon to the size you wish your ball to be. Measure three or more metres of string and cut it off. Soak it in the glue mixture made out of 2 tablespoons of water to a third of a cup of
glue. Leave it soaking for about five minutes.
Lightly spread the surface of the balloon with the jelly substance and then wrap the soaked string around the balloon in a criss-cross pattern so that it forms a network. Make a close pattern so that it is strong. Sprinkle glitter over the string network.
Leave the ball to dry overnight. Next day pierce the balloon and pull it through a hole in the network and you will find that you have made an openwork sparkling ball.
